Obituary of Ruby P. Perdue

Ruby P. Perdue, 83, of Salem went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 25, 2022.  She was born to the late Charles and Mary Perdue of Elliston.  She worked for the Roanoke County/Salem Health Department for many years before retiring in 2003.

In addition to her parents Ruby was preceded in death by her brothers, Nelson, Burton, and Clifton Perdue; and sisters, Glenna Mills and Elizabeth Duncan.

Ruby was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  She always thought of others and loved her family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Freda Hylton (Charles); grandchildren, Alan Thomas (India) and Daryl Hylton-Reynolds (Bruce); and her great grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Lilah and Axl Reynolds and Austin and Dakota Thomas and brother, Howard Perdue.  She also leaves behind her beloved four legged grand dog, Izzy.

Her family has decided to forgo traditional services in favor of planning a private celebration of her life at a later date.
