Obituary of Leonard F. Firebaugh

Leonard Franklin Firebaugh, Sr. 91,  of Roanoke County died peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was a son of the late Lee H. Firebaugh, Sr and Lucile Smith Firebaugh. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 4 brothers, 4 sisters and a great granddaughter Cameron Blake Firebaugh. 

 

Surviving are his wife of 71 years Mary Whitlock Firebaugh; two sons Len Firebaugh (Gwen) of Charlotte NC and Gary Firebaugh (Joanie) of Roanoke County VA; 5 grandchildren and spouses;  7 great grandchildren; and a sister Judith Firebaugh Perez.

 

Leonard was a devoted husband and father who loved the Lord and faithfully served in his local church all his life. Most recently he served at New Life Christian Ministries in Roanoke VA.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to New Life Christian Ministries for benefit of Judith Perez, missionary in Mexico. 

 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, February 27, 2022 at New Life Christian Ministries 5745 Airport Road by Pastors Tony Atkinson and Bill Terry.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home.  (540)366-0707
