Obituary of Susan H. Yeager
Susan Hoy Yeager was welcomed into the arms of the angels on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born in Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin at Bent’s Camp, her family resort. The family moved to Virginia when she was nine years old and she grew up in the Roanoke and Boone’s Mill areas. Her work experience included being a fingerprint specialist for the FBI, raising two children and working at the Bank of Virginia. Her passions during her younger years included singing and acting in high school productions, as well as at Ferrum Junior College. After retiring she enjoyed sewing, handcrafts and her most fulfilling activity, quilting. Her greatest joy was giving away her handstitched quilts to family, friends and secret pals at church.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jimmie Yeager. She is survived by a son, David Yeager and his wife Cynthia; daughter, Polly Yeager; chosen daughter, Jeanette Watkins.
