Obituary of Barry Donald Stewart

Barry D. Stewart, 70, of Troutville went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 12, 2022.  He was preceded by his father, Frederick Donald Stewart and a sister, Peggy Stanley.

Barry retired from the City of Salem's Electric Department.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  He was a avid woodworker and golfer.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Judie Stewart; children, Dorey Stewart, Kristi Chocklett (Blane), Barry Keith Stewart; mother, Dorothy Stewart; grandchildren, Rachael Lilly (Paul), Ryan Armitage (Rebecca), Karen Michie, Carter P. Stewart (Holly), Erin Chocklett, Ethan C. Stewart; great grandchildren, Max Lilly, Eli Peters, Tyler Chocklett, Emma Lilly, Elliott Armitage, Blake Stewart, Walker Stewart, Jonah Armitage, Samuel Armitage and Camden Johnson; sister, Sue Dogan (Jerry).

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  (540)366-0707
