Obituary of Sandy Ferguson Lacy

Please share a memory of Sandy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sandy Ferguson Lacy, 70, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 25, 2022.  She was preceded by her parents, Wesley and Geraldine Dudding Ferguson; brothers, Brady and James “Buster” Ferguson and an infant brother, Alan Ferguson.

Sandy retired from Medeco Security Locks after 32 years of service and  attended Green Ridge Baptist Church.  She loved Jesus and her family fiercely.  We could not have asked for a better mother, sister, and aunt.  Sandy was a wonderful listener, encourager, friend and truly an example of sacrificial love.  For the rest of our days, we will strive to keep her legacy alive.

Surviving are her daughter, Leigh Ann Jones King and her husband Brett Steven King; grandchildren, Kyleigh Grace and Emaleigh Faith King; sister, Vicky Ferguson Ayers; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece who she considered a second daughter, Amber Talback.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Green Ridge Baptist Church or to North Roanoke Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastors Greg Moser and Daniel Palmer.  Entombment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at Simpson Funeral Home.  (540)366-0707
