Obituary of Joan Johns Long

Joan Johns Long, 75, of Roanoke went home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Amos Johns; son, Craig Benton Long and brother, Jeffrey Johns.

She is survived be her husband, Johnnie R. Long; daughter, Amy Long Martin; granddaughters, Isabelle Long and Braelyn Martin; and many loving cousins and friends.

Joan loved her husband very much. She was known to say, "For my age I've had a good run and I am so glad to have my husband and family by my side." Her wishes were granted that she got to go home during her last days.

The family will have a memorial service on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Simpson Funeral Home with a Visitation from 12 pm-1 pm. 

In leiu of flowers donations can be made to Unity Church, New Covenant Christian Church or to the SPCA.
