Obituary of Crowell Travis Smith, Jr.

Crowell T, Smith, Jr., 95, of Botetourt, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 21, 2021. Crowell served proudly in the United States Army, serving in World War II and later retiring from the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents Crowell Smith Sr. and Ada S. Smith; wife of 53 years Clara L. Smith; brother, Andrew W. Smith; sister, Frances Rosen.

He is survived by his nieces, Nancy Waddell and husband Danny, Brenda Daugherty and husband Wayne, Patricia Hall, and special niece Donna Duncan and boyfriend Bill Beasley; nephews, Richard Heslep, Roger Heslep and wife Myrteen, and Jimmy Lawrence and wife Peg; special caregiver Susan Cox.

A graveside service with military honors, will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. (540)366-0707.
