Hello Betty,
I recently attended a Roanoke College Alumni Reunion and was so very sorry to learn of Doug's passing. I remember you at Crawford Hall dorm (1967?) and how much I appreciated your friendship. I enjoyed the Tribute video and hope life has treated you well. Peace be with you.
Love from an old friend,

Nikki and I have had the privilege of knowing Doug and Betty for the last 10 years. The warmth and kindness both showed to us when we moved to the area was appreciated and heartfelt. Doug - you are missed! Betty - we love you and want you to know how important you are to us and to so many. Thank you for your kindness, friendship, and joy you bring to so many. We are at your service!
Respectfully and Semper Fidelis,
Rich & Nikki Diddams

Our deepest condolences to the family of a fellow military member. Knowing Betty and Doug for a short time, but realizing their long time commitment to their Marine Corp family does fill us with pride for knowing them. Our likes were with Bluegrass music in different venues over the years. What a wonderful group of friends you have, Betty, with the Marines and car club members. Know too that many of your "water friends" will welcome you back with open arms. Bless you and cradle your wonderful memories. The tribute video is very well done. Love and Hugs...Rosemary & Ray

Dixie and I are very sorry for the loss of our friend and fellow Marine Doug Gresham. Doug was a proud Marine Air-Winger like myself. We send our love to Elizabeth and her family. I spoke with Doug on the phone last week and we even had some laughs. He said he was going to join the Marine Corps League Platoon made up of members of our Lynchburg Detachment 759. I asked him if he was going to be the guide of the platoon and he laughed saying that job is for tall Marines and he would be the House Mouse! I hope GySgt Rice and Drill Instructor, Lt. James Dunning meet him at the pearly gates. Doug always had a smile and great sense of humor. He will be missed by all of us and it won't be long before we see him again. Semper Fidelis Doug!

Doug's service to our country is to be remembered and honored . What's also to be remembered and honored is his commitment to a 50 year plus marriage to Betty, who will so terribly miss him. She has a lifetime of memories of good times which I know will be a great comfort to her. Terry and I will miss Doug and hold Betty in our prayers.
