Obituary of Charles E Sowder

Charles E. Sowder, 77, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021. He was born in Roanoke and was the son of the late John Albert Sowder and the late Levenia Palmer Sowder. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Delores Hicks; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Becky Sowder; niece, Alice Flowers. Charles was a member of Poages Mill Church of the Brethren and worked in sales with Electrolux for many years.

He will be missed and remembered by his brother, Johnnie Sowder and his wife Lorrine; nieces, Doris Courser and her husband Stan, Pam Kinney and her husband Zane, Emily Chernick and her husband Peter, and Erin Doole; as well as numerous cousins and other family members.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Todd Reed and Rev. Bobby Sowder officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Poages Mill Church of the Brethren, 6550 Bent Mountain Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
