Obituary of Josephine Welch Overstreet

Josephine Welch Overstreet, 75 of Roanoke went home to be with Lord on Sunday,  October 31, 2021. 

She was born August 02, 1946 daughter of the late Clyde Moore Welch, Sr and Annie Mae Boyer Welch. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters Myrtle Tate, Margaret Furrow and Kathleen Link.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Kenneth R (Chubby) Overstreet. Through life's struggles they stood together through it all. When her illness took over he ensued, the role of caregiver, with love and tenderness guiding him, to ensure her that she was loved. They both enjoyed daily long drives to familiar places while holding hands, which always brought a smile to her face.

Also surviving to cherish her memory her children Chuck Overstreet (Kathy), daughter Cindy Simmons (Randy); Two granddaughter's Tahsa Dillard and Haley Overstreet, Two grandson's Jordan Overstreet and Troy Wickline; Three great grandchildren Deyshaun and Makya Dillard and Eva Mae Wickline; One brother Clyde Welch, Jr and numerous nieces and nephews. 

At the request of Josephine, there will be no funeral or memorial service held. Instead, she has asked that friends and family take a scenic drive and enjoy the fall season changes. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Kindred Hospice 5330 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24019
