Obituary of Dianne Rigney Vest

Dianne Rigney "Me Maw" Vest, 78, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 26, 2021.  She was preceded by her parents, Hugh and Christine Rigney of Rocky Mount.

Dianne was a longtime Appalachian Power Company employee and an active member of Shenandoah Baptist Church.  She loved and was devoted to her family and enjoyed all types of art especially painting.

Surviving are her husband, Larry Vest; son, Tim (Paige) O'Leary; step sons, Russ (Angie) Vest, Scott (Lisa) Vest; grandchildren, Jeremy and Alex Vest, Josh, Jenna and Jake O'Leary, Sydney Vest; great grandchildren, Liam Vest and Leah O'Leary; brother, Charles "Chuck" (Ladean) Rigney; sister, Sue Rigney; and a very special niece, Shana Angle.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or the Shiner’s Children's Hospital.

A celebration of Dianne's life will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  (540)366-0707
