Obituary of Bobby Joe Dillon

Bobby J. Dillon, 90, husband of Sarah Howell Dillon, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021. He was born in Boones Mill and was the son of the late Verna Dillon and the late Ethel Alcorn Dillon. He was also preceded in death by three siblings.

Bobby was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and later worked for Roanoke Gas for many years. He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. Bobby loved the Lord, never met a stranger, treated everyone with respect and was fair and honest in his dealings.

He will be missed and remembered by his wife of 37 years, Sarah Dillon; sons, Michael W. Dillon and Ricky D. Dillon; siblings, Jean Brooks, Jack, Donald, and Jerry Dillon and Patricia Wheeler.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to11 at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 402 Hershberger Rd. NW, Roanoke, VA 24012.
