Frank E. “Frankie” Carter, 74, long-time companion of Patricia M. Millehan, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was born in Roanoke and was the son of the late Frank W. Carter and the late Edna Mae Hill Carter. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Taylor Carter.

Frankie was a simple man and an all-around good man. He loved to play scratch off tickets and slot machines. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and he loved his lodge family. He worked for many years as an electrician.

He will be missed and remembered by his companion of more than 40 years, Patricia M. Millehan; step-children, Christina Jones and Joetta Kraus (Kirk); step-grandchildren, Amanda Pagans (Robert), Gary Fitzgerald, David Brown, and Kory Kraus; 10 step-great-grandchildren; close friends, Wally and Carol Andrews; sister, Donna and Pauline.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Life Tabernacle, 801 E. Virginia Ave., Vinton, VA 24179.
