Obituary of Tony Mitchell Crowder

Please share a memory of Tony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Tony Mitchell Crowder, 59, of Roanoke went home to Jesus on Sunday October 24, 2021.  He was born on March 11, 1962 in Pulaski, Va.  He was preceded in death by his father Sherman James Crowder and his beloved little granny, Ruby Mae Tate.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years, Cathy Griffin Crowder, sons, Shawn Kailey (Lindsey) Crowder, Trei Fitzgerald (Corey) Crowder; and daughter, Makayla Renae Crowder; grandchildren, Logynn, Ryann, and Ezra Crowder; mother, Novella McPeak and brothers, Mark and Darryl Willard.  Also surviving are members of his extended family-in-love, the Griffins and the Huffmans.

Tony worked in retail most of his life, most recently managing an Advance Auto Parts store for 15 years.  He was a jack of all trades and loved to work with his hands.  He could repair cars, build almost anything and was a master at renovation (under his wife's direction).  Tony never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.

A celebration of Tony's life will be held 4 pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Green Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Moser officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 pm until service time on Thursday.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. (540)366-0707 In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231
