Obituary of Rosemary Yates Luck

Rosemary Yates Luck, 76, of Montvale, Virginia, passed away on October 17, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George Kipling and Louzella Yates, her sister Gale Gibson, and her granddaughter, Effie Allison Price.  She is survived by her children- Robert (Bobby) Luck of Montvale, VA; Delores Overstreet of Montvale, VA; Thomas Luck and wife Jeanette of Montvale, VA; Sara Morgan and husband Jonathan of Roanoke, VA.  She was blessed with eleven grandchildren- Jennifer Price and Mitch Dudley of Roanoke, VA; Thomas Luck, Jr of Montvale, VA; Justin Luck and wife Lydia of Greenville, NC; Patrick Tyler Luck and wife Amanda of Blue Ridge, VA; Christopher Price and wife Heather of Thaxton, VA; Timothy Luck of Montvale, VA; Lauren Forero and Sean Amodeo of Newport News, VA; Chase Meador of Montvale, VA;  Madeline Forero of Roanoke, VA; William Morgan of Roanoke, VA and Isabella Shropshire of Roanoke, VA.  She was also blessed with five great grandchildren- Mariah, Traci, Haleigh, Dallas and James Ray.  She is survived by her sister Trena Hicks and brother Roger Yates.

Rosemary was a professional Greyhound bus driver for more than 25 years and the first female Greyhound Driving Instructor, with over 1 million safe driving miles.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, her dogs, as well as traveling and playing bingo.

A celebration of Rosemary’s life will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2pm at Montvale Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. (540)366-0707
