Obituary of Hal Wayne Jamison

Please share a memory of Hal to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Hal Wayne Jamison, 80, of Roanoke went to be with his Lord Jesus and his Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 28, 2021.  He was the eldest son of the late Billie W. Jamison and Gertrude Jamison Bayse.  Wayne was predeceased by his son, Mark Andrew Jamison.

Surviving is his wife and best friend of 56 special years, Ann Kepner Jamison.  Also surviving are his daughter, Holly Ann Jamison; brother, Wallace D. Jamison (Carolyn); sister, Elaine B. Hale (Rob); sister-in-law, Amy K. Boyette (Tom) brother-in-law, Dan F. Kepner; daughter-in-law, Lisa T. Issem (Rob) and the gift of one grandchild, Mark Jamison Thomas; and lifelong friends Larry and Wanda Jamison.

Wayne graduated from Virginia Tech and greatly enjoyed 46 years as a design engineer with General Electric.  In his free time, he grew a huge garden and was always generous with his bounty.  He was also a skilled woodworker and created beautiful furniture for his home.  Wayne was a good and honest man who loved his Lord and his family and would help others in any way he could, large or small.

A graveside service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Antioch Church of the Brethren Cemetery 2996 Callaway Road Rocky Mount VA with the Rt. Rev. R. Quigg Lawrence officiating.  Due to several family members with suppressed immunities, we would be grateful if friends would wear masks while in attendance.

“Well done, good and faithful servant. . . . enter thou into the joy of thy Lord”
