Obituary of Laura Brown Hall

Laura B. Hall 83 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2011. She was preceded by her parents, Luther R. Sr. and Laura Johnson Brown; brother, Gorman Brown; sisters-in-law, Ruby Bryant and Elizabeth Robertson. Mrs. Hall was a member of Valley View Wesleyan Church for many years, where she started the Youth Puppet Ministries, worked with the youth and was a Sunday school teacher also involved in the Christian Endeavor International Youth Group. She is a retired Day Care Teacher where she enjoyed teaching the children. Surviving are her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Lewis Hall; a son, Robert E. Hall and wife Linda of Roanoke; daughter, Debbie H. James and husband Roger of Roanoke; grandchildren, Robert Scott Hall, Byron Whitt and wife Tracy, Matthew Whitt, Laura Whitt Underwood and husband James; great grandchildren, Madalyn Wilhelm, David Wilhelm; brothers, Leon Brown of Salem, Luther Brown, Jr. of Roanoke; sisters, Virginia Brown and Lois Macdonald both of Roanoke; special sister-in-law, Twiligh (Bo) Lawson and husband Mike of Roanoke; extended family Sharon Richmond and husband Wayne of Covington, Micheal D. Barnes of Roanoke, In-laws, Louise, Betty and JR., along with a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association. A service celebrating Mrs. Hall's life will be held 11:00am Friday, December 9, 2011 in the Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Art Good officiating.
