Obituary of Brian Lantz Camper
Brian Lantz Camper, 59, of Botetourt County, VA passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 as he lost his courageous battle with Cancer.
Brian was the son of the late Bobby and Patsy Camper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Wiley Abbott and Tommy Camper as well as other extended family members.
Surviving are his loving family, wife, Jessica Camper; son, Cody Camper; step daughters, Reagan and Kennedy Dorsey; aunts, Nell Abbott, and Tubby Camper, Peggy Camper; uncle, Boyd Camper and many other loving aunts and uncles; mother-in-law, Joyce Brown; sister-in-law, Melissa Brown; niece, Madison Brown; numerous cousins including, Cameron Abbott and Ricky Shaffer; and his very special yorkie named Piper, she was indeed "man's best friend".
Brian was an avid sportsman, he was a state champion in wrestling, and a pole vaulter, and was inducted into the Lord Botetourt High School Hall of Fame. He was a graduate of Elon University and a brother in the TKE Fraternity. The family would like to offer a special thanks to all of his many fraternity "brothers" who supported him during his fight with Cancer.
The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the wonderful Palliative Care nurses at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital as well as the nurses of Carilion Hospice.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road with Pastor Carol Johnston officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. Sunday until service time. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
