Obituary of Raymond Lynwood Layton

Raymond Lynwood Layton, 73 of Vinton joined his family in Heaven on April 13, 2021. He was born in Alleghany County VA to Ruby and Walter Layton and grew up in Millboro VA. Raymond was proceeded in death by his parents and several siblings. He is also proceeded in death by his son, Walter Gordon Layton, his Grandson, Dustin Layton and his wife and the Love of his Life, Sandra Chattin. Raymond is survived by 3 Wonderful Sisters, Geraldine, Imogene and Agnes. His Son, Rusty (Sissy) Layton. His Additional family: Jerry and Amy Chattin, Jimmy and Stacy Chattin. Grandchildren: Ashley Layton, Valerie and Sam Chattin, Arlie and Carman Via and Kevin and Kayla Reustle. Great Grand Children, Kaydon, Kameron and Kaylee Reustle. Daughter in Law: Karen Layton. Sister and Brother in Law: Joyce and Ronnie Smith. Many more extended family members and friends.

Raymond was a contractor by trade and could build or repair anything. Raymond loved sports, especially anything Virginia Tech. He also loved to watch his grandchildren participate in sports when they were growing up. Raymond loved his family with all of his heart and enjoyed spending time with us. He loved to play Bingo and work word puzzles. He loved his two little dogs, Taco and Pepper.

Words cannot express how much we will miss him but we know that he is now in the loving arms of our Lord and in the arms of Sandy. There was never a more perfect pair than Raymond and Sandy and how special it is for them to be together again for eternity and with other family members as well making our home in Heaven.
