Obituary of Linda Ruth Angove

Linda Ruth Angove, 74, of Roanoke passed away into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Kurt and Margaret Metzger.

Linda was always giving of herself to help other people and make them smile. She enjoyed wonderful fellowship at St. John’s Lutheran Church where, for years, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also spent valuable time visiting the aged and housebound as part of the church’s Visitation Committee. Linda greatly enjoyed traveling in her retirement years as she readily found God’s beauty in all of His marvelous creation. She particularly enjoyed visiting National Parks.

Linda is survived by her husband of 47 years, David Angove; sons, James and Matthew Angove of Lake Tahoe NV; sister, Margo Metzger; brothers, Robert Metzger and wife Sue and Kurt Metzger; and numerous other family members.  Linda loved and cared for all her extended family, including innumerable nephews and nieces who all loved her dearly. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew her and benefited from her kindness, care and grace.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice, particularly those who lovingly cared for Linda in her final days at home; Nurses: Annaleigh, Donna and Mary Lou.

Services for Linda will be held on Friday, April 23 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4608 Brambleton Ave, Roanoke, VA 24018. The family invites friends to attend the visitation from 10:30am-11:30am. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held immediately thereafter at 12:00 noon. The service will be officiated by Reverends Mark Graham and Steven Kelley. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.
