Bessie "Tootie" Newman, 93, of Roanoke went to heaven to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2021. There she was greeted by her husband Lewis; son, Kirk; and siblings, Minor, Harding, Essie, Teenie and Lewis; and parents, Jim and Bessie Patsel.
Surviving are her much loved and special grandson, Jonathan Newman and wife Kayla; and sisters, Lois Adkins and Jean Covington; numerous nieces and nephews; and her furry friend, Riley.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, April April 19, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
