Obituary of John F. Delp

John F. Delp, 86, widower of Mary Hall Delp, departed from this world to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Glen H. Delp and Mattie Hazel Smith Delp; sister, Sadie Long; brothers, Donald (Duck), JR and Brady Delp.

Mr. Delp is survived by his son, Audie Delp; daughter, Andrea (Freddie) Shively; six grandchildren, Mark (Laura) Delp, Wendy (Josh) Burnette, Monty (Samantha) Delp, DeWayne Delp, Breanna Wall Kessee and Christopher Delp; four great-grandchildren, Payton Perkins, Tresden Delp, Ava Kessee and Everlee Delp; brother, Gene (Moe) Delp; as well as a special friend and caregiver, Teresa Wall.

He was a lifelong member of New Life Temple where he was active for many years. He also owned and operated his own business, Delp's Tile & Painting until his retirement. He was known for his great humor and laughter and especially his story telling.

Per John's wishes a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for the care they provided during these past several months and a special thank you to Shayla Calfee whom he dearly thought so much of and called her his "Salem".
