John L. Brown, 86, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents the Rev. Lester Brown and Clara Brown; sisters Virginia Brown, and Elizabeth Scoggins. He was a retired traffic manager with both Moores and Elizabeth Arden. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Shirley Johns Brown; sons, Paul M. Brown, K. Andrew Brown and wife Rebecca; Eric P. Brown; daughter, Delores B. Campbell and husband Terry; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Lillie B. Perry, Ellen B. Surratt, Rebekah B. Fanelty and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Widsor Hills United Methodist Church or to the Salvation Army. There are no arrangements planned at this time.
