Obituary of Leslie Anne Irving Doss
Leslie Ann Doss, (maiden name Leslie Ann Irving) age 64, went to be with our Lord and Savior, on 4/4/2021, Easter morning. Leslie is survived by her son Dennis Wolf, JR.; daughter Summer Stonelake, and husband Christopher; her son David Doss and wife Amanda; and her son Jessee Doss and wife Kami. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jonathan Wolf, Evan Hanner, Devin Manivong, Tommy Manivong, Christian Hollis, Ashlynn Doss, Teagan Doss, Isabel Hristov, Tristan Doss, Caleb Doss and great grandson Tommy Manivong Jr.. Leslie is also survived by her sister Susan Forbes, husband David and brother Eric Irving and wife Kim.
Leslie was born in Bristol Tennessee and eventually adopted by Edward Irving and Bertie Markan. Leslie resided in Roanoke, Va. She obtained her GED and worked for Elbit Systems of America for 20+ years.
She was the glue for her family and things went according to what she said. She was strong willed and stubborn but underneath that hard exterior she had a soft interior and a heart of gold. Leslie was always thinking about others and doing things for her family, friends and neighbors. She loved her grandkids her way and they looked forward to her special gifts, especially at Christmas.
Leslie wasn’t a complainer, ever. She lived a hard life in many ways. She persevered and raised 4 strong kids, on her own. She was the glue and helped mold us into who we are today. Leslie was the strongest, most determined, hard headed person I have ever met. She embodied the attitude of “whatever it takes to get the job done.”
Leslie was a world changer because she changed everyone she came in contact with, either immediately or over time. The following quote “Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.” was embodied by my mother as she carved her legacy into every heart she came in contact with.
Leslie was preceded in death by her father Edward Irving and mother Bertie M. Irving Markan.
Leslie was cremated at Simpson funeral home, no formal service will be held per her request.
Mom, We love you. See you on the other side.
