Obituary of Jeanie Neff Eberly

 Norma Jean Eberly, 88, of Salem, Virginia, formerly of Oakland, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2021. She was born February 17, 1933 in Hagerstown, MD to Clinton and Edith Haller Neff.

Jeanie is survived by her sons: John (wife Candi) of Santa Rosa, CA, David (wife Karen) of Frostburg, MD; a daughter: Susan E. Short (husband Jeff) of Salem, VA; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, treasured sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Lewis Markell Eberly.

The family wishes to thank the Richfield Living Community staff (The Oaks and Blue Ridge Cottage) as well as Good Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Jeanie’s memory to Garrett College Foundation, Inc. 687 Mosser Road, McHenry MD 21541.

A private family funeral will be held at College Lutheran Church, Salem VA, in the near future with the Rev. David C. Drebes officiating. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, Roanoke VA.
