Robert Stone "Rob" "Bobby" Rader,  87, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his son, Allen Rader; parents, Olen T. and Claudine Crumpacker Rader; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Pauline Sprinkel; brothers-in-law, Richard Sprinkel and Earl Jones; sisters-in-law, Sue Markham and Betty Woody.

Mr. Rader was a resident of Bonsack for most of his life. He was known as a happy man, who never met a stranger.  There are many folks out there sill looking for that "hen weigh". He was a Jack of all trades with a special affection for woodworking, tractor work, tree and shrub work and lawn mowing. He was a loyal employee of General Electric; retiring after 39 years of service as a wireman and lead man.  But most of all he was a devoted family man.

He was a member of Vinton Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Eddie Mae Sprinkel Rader; son, Tim (Michelle) Rader; grandchildren, Eric (Hillary) Rader, Timothy and Michael Rader; great grandson, Finn Rader; sister, Rachel Jones; sister-in-law, Nell (Sonny) Zaun; brother-in-law, Glen Markham; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Vinton Baptist Church P O Box 306 Vinton, VA  24179.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Travis Russell. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2021.  A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 in Mountain View Cemetery Vinton, VA.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
