Obituary of Rodney Odell Johnson

Rodney Odell Johnson, 70, of Roanoke, has gone home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Rodney was known to say “It is what it is.” He was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a hard loving, sarcastic and gentle daddy.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tanya Morris; his mother and father, Ira and Minnie Johnson; and his siblings: Lewis Johnson, Francis Wilson, Charles Johnson, Robert Johnson, Jean Overstreet, Frank Johnson, Katherine Johnson, Carl Johnson and Lacey Johnson.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Tammy Johnson and husband Jay, Lisa Webster and husband Damion, and Mariah Johnson; son, Justin Thomas and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Brittany, Aaliyah, Kaitlyn, Jaalen, Amani, Alexis, Alex, Samantha, Brenna, Coreyon, Devin, Kyan and King; great grandchildren: Miley, Mileya, Kayin Jr. and Jah'nyah; brother, Jimmy Johnson and special niece, Barbara Thomas.

A Graveside Service will be held this Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00 am at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Andrew Draughn officiating. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.
