Obituary of Fred H. Gibson

Fred H. Gibson, 81, formerly of Salem passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Gibson; parents, Brittian Perry and Bessie Marie Gibson; siblings, Alma Ann Divers, Elmer Francis and Alton "Joe" Gibson.

Fred had a long and varied career in the Building Supply and Sales Industry.  He was a kind, caring and patient individual who never met a stranger and was always ready for a good laugh or to lend a helping hand.

Surviving are a step son, Chad (Melissa) Reed of Riner, VA, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to JDRF.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Barber of the Blue Ridge Church Officiating.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
