Obituary of Jo Ann Lowe Stafford

On Wednesday January 13, 2021 Jo Ann Lowe Stafford, 82, was welcomed to her Heavenly home by those who preceded her on her journey including her father, Frank W. Lowe; birth mother, Lucille Hayes Lowe; mother who raised her Sara Elizabeth Lowe; a child lost at birth and her oldest brother, Thomas Lowe.

She will be missed and remembered in this life by her loving husband of 60 years, Ivy Kenyon Stafford; children: Frank M. Stafford, Todd E. Stafford and his wife Deborah, Joan Elizabeth Stafford; grandson: Jordan Thomas Stafford, sister: Joyce Virginia Hanzel and her husband Dennis; sister-in-law: Faye Lowe; several nieces and nephews including a special niece Jane Palmer and special nephew Dan.

Jo Ann was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she will be missed by her many friends. They will also miss her cooking at the pot luck dinners. She was a loving and caring mother and truly loved being a household engineer for Ken and her biological children as well her spiritual children.

A graveside service will be held to celebrate her life on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2PM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Hilton Jeffries officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service.

In the event of inclement weather please call the funeral home for updates.

The service will be livestreamed for those who are not able to attend in person.

The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and especially Megan and Krista, for the love and care shown to Jo Ann during her illness.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church in care of the food pantry or the building fund.
