Obituary of Geneva L Hill

Please share a memory of Geneva to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Geneva Lorene Dickerson Hill, born on January 11, 1929, last surviving child of Willie E. and Zora Burnett Dickerson, passed away to her Heavenly Home peacefully on January 1, 2021. An Angel on earth is now an Angel in Heaven. She is finally reunited with her loving husband, John W. “Bill” Hill, who predeceased her on January 5, 1996.

She is also preceded in death by a son, William “Wayne” Hill; son-in-law, Charles “Terry” Booth, and a grandson, Jason Hill, as well as her siblings and numerous good friends whom she loved dearly.

Geneva was blessed to have her life long, childhood friend, Doris Amos, with her in the same facility, where they so enjoyed reliving their high school days thru stories. She also had her dear roommate, Catherine Spicer, and her family, whom she loved and considered family.

She is survived by her children Brenda Booth of Vinton, Larry and Cindy Hill of Fincastle, and Gary Hill of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Geneva will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She put everyone before herself, and loved unconditionally just as Christ loves us.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA, 24018.

There will be a private service held now for the family and a Celebration of Geneva’s Life will be held at a later date.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com
