HOFFLER, Vickie D. November 30, 2020 Vickie Jean Dickson Hoffler, 71, of Roanoke went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 30, 2020. She was preceded by her husband of 48 years, Charles S. Hoffler; father, Howard Dickson; mother, Jean Dickson. Vickie served as music director for a period of time at Morgan’s Baptist Church, Blackstone Baptist Church, and director of the youth department at Waverly Place Baptist Church, each while her husband was serving at those churches as pastor. She also served for a time as Minister of Music at Belmont Baptist Church, and she worked in bookkeeping at Vinton Baptist Church. She later earned her Bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin College, and Teaching Certification from Hollins University. She taught at Round Hill Montessori School in Roanoke City, until her retirement. Following her retirement she spent her time as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Tiffany Faw and husband Scott, Christi Lyons and husband Joey, Tobi Helton and husband Chris; grandchildren, Brock, Mitch and Amelia Faw, Eliana and James Lyons, Brian, Michael, and Matthew Helton; brother, Ken Dickson and wife Karen; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Lakeside Baptist Church, 47 Dalewood Avenue, Salem by Pastor Joey Lyons. Family will receive friends at the church at 11:00 a.m. preceding the funeral service. No graveside service. Social distancing will be followed and masks required. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Adult Care Center of Roanoke Valley (accrv.org), who was invaluable in their help to the family while Vickie was living with them. The family also wants to offer their gratitude to the entire staff at English Meadows, Blacksburg for their care of Vickie over the last two years. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
