Obituary of Helen Pyle Burnette

Helen P. Burnette, 82, of Covington, passed away, Thursday, November 12, 2020. Born October 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Helen Clatterbaugh Pyle. She was also preceded in death by her husband James E. Burnette, sister Rebecca Pyle Bowden, and brothers, David Pyle and Steve Pyle.

Helen was a member of the Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church, the Philathea Sunday School Class, and the Witness Committee. She retired from Mead Westvaco Corporation with 44 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy L. Caldwell and husband David of Roanoke; grandson, Morgan Caldwell and wife Amber of Roanoke; sister, Dana L. Swoope and husband Max; nieces, Denise Pyle, Kara Powell, and Kea Dressler; nephews, Tim Hahn, David Hahn, Gary Hahn, Michael Pyle, an Tony Jack.

In keeping with Helen’s wishes there will not be any services planned. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice in Roanoke, or Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. (540)366-0707.
