I am so thankful I got to know Nancy as my water aerobics instructor and then I invited her to a book group where the Congressman I had worked for spoke about his book (Middle Church). We became good friends and went to movies and dinners together. She even got me into red hat events before I was 55. Then a couple of years ago I could not get ahold of her by phone, her FB page, even sent a card that did not come back. I assume she went to live with one of her daughters. I was always impressed with her take charge attitude and stories of fighting for civil rights. I have missed her and seeing this gives me closure but does not lessen her absence in my life. So I cannot imagine this loss to her daughters and other longer-time friends. If Nancy had your back, you had nothing to fear. KarenK.
