John David Spencer, 69, of Vinton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph N. Spencer Jr. and Oma L. Spencer; son, Justin Thomas Spencer. 

John is survived by his wife Sharon Spencer; son, Jason Scott Spencer and wife Khrysti; daughter, Christine Alexander and husband Jeff; brother, Gerald Spencer and wife Martha; sister Denise Wilson and husband Calvin; grandchildren, Justin Spencer and wife Katrina, Morgan Spencer, Cody Alexander and wife Loren, Cayla Alexander, Gunnar Nelson, Bennett Franklin, and Harleigh Franklin; great-grandchild Jaxon Spencer. 

Services will be private for the family. A gathering of friends will be held at a later date, please check back for further details. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. (540)366-0707.
