I sit with tears rolling down my face as I'm sure many do thinking of loosing Edie. Some of my earliest childhood memories are with her, eating Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookies, going on sleepovers, going to Gino's hamburgers, watching Pete's Dragon, and her picking me up to dance at a wedding. I was lucky enough to dance with her again at my wedding 30some years later. I feel blessed to have known her, she had a beauty both inside and out that few possess. To all her family I just want to say thank you for sharing such a wonderful, warm, and amazing woman with me & the world.

I am so sorry to hear of this. I worked with Edie for a number of years on the Mission of Mercy dental project. She was one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever known. I am sorry for your loss.

Edie and I worked together in her early years at Carilion, but she was soooo much more than just a co-worker. She had the most gentle spirit and the kindest heart. Over the years MFL was always our way to keep up and the "Round Table Group." She was there for me during some of my happiest times-my wedding and some of the worst-several deaths in my family and friends. Her presence always was a gift. She loved her friends, but her family and especially her 3 children and her grandchildren were the lights of her life, and they gave her such joy and happiness. I hope their memories of her will in time give them the peace of understanding and will light the way for all of them to live happy lives which would be the fitting tribute for a life so well lived. Edie was a very special lady to so many! I worked with Edie at the Fralin Center as a member of “My Fair Ladies.” This was a group of nurses who would travel all over the Carilion Health System to do health fairs and lifestyle improvement classes for the employees. She was a hard worker and did it with a smile on her face! You could always depend on her to do her work and do it well. She had a very sweet, compassionate and kind spirit about her. She will be missed by us all! One thing I know is that she loved her children and those precious grandchildren brought so much love and joy in her heart! My prayers are with you all for God to comfort your hearts and give you peace knowing she is healed and walking on streets of gold!

Edie, From our first conversation, you were such a cheerleader for me. I didn’t know you long but you made me feel as though we were the oldest of friends. I will never forget your kindness, the ease with which you would make conversation, and your infectious smile and laugh. I will miss our talks. Rest In Peace, Sweet Friend. Amanda

Edie, you truly were an angel walking on earth. God planted you here to touch the lives of so many. Your compassion for others, your tender spoken word, your ability to show kindness to all that needed you. You were a friend to all.
So Thankful that your family shared you with us. The times I was in your home, are memories I will treasure. When you were in my home, there was laughter like no other.
I will never forget our last conversation. You giving me words of encouragement. You sharing kindness and a hug filled with love and care.
You may be gone from this place we call home, but now you are in your heavenly home.
I will never forget you, as the people that go the deepest in our hearts remain there forever.

Edie.... what can I say? You mean so much to me, it's hard to say goodbye to you. You were so much more than a friend to me. I will hold ever so close to my heart our talks, our laughs, and memories. This doesn't seem real to me and I just miss you so much already! I love you more than you will ever know.

My heart is aching! I have never met a more precious woman in my life than Edie. She was like a mother figure & friend to me & so many others! She was God’s angel here on earth! She lived life to the fullest , loved her kids & grandkids, & insanely big family! Edie would do ANYTHING for anyone if there was a need! She was truly the hands & feet of God. I hate for the rest of us that her life here on earth has ended but I know she is dancing, singing, baking, painting, sewing, planting & fully healed next to her other friends & family in heaven! Love, peace & strength to you all until we see our sweet Edie again some day! Xoxo Jill
