Henry E. Barnett, Sr., 76, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was preceded by his parents, Selma Kenneth and Mary Lee Patterson Barnett; sisters, Marie Caldwell, Violet Nichols, and May Petty; and brothers, Kenneth David Barnett, Robert Louis Barnett, and John D. Barnett. Mr. Barnett retired from Jarrett Electric Company after 47 years of service. Surviving are his children, Mary (Gary) Forrester, and Henry E. "Bucky" Barnett, Jr.; grandchildren, Tori Shay (Adam) Atkinson, and Carrie Marie Ramey; great grandchildren, Abby and Alyse Atkinson, Shaelynn and Zayne Ramey; sisters, Gay Sink, Thelma Spradlin, and Bonnie Caldwell; brothers, Malcolm Ray Barnett and Dennis R. Barnett; numerous nieces and nephews; and former wife, Sheridan Barnett. The family offers their special thanks to Henry's nurse, Nikki for the amazing care she has provided over the past months. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Cameron Dunlap. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
