I first met Marlene and Rosie as their realtor when they came to Roanoke looking for a home. I enjoyed my professional experience with them and enjoyed continuing to see them over the years. The last time I saw Marlene was at her job at Orvis in downtown Roanoke. Both ladies where a joy to know. Marlene will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to met and know her. Rosie, I hope it brings you some comfort to know that Marlene is fondly remembered and that our thoughts and prayers are with you, all your family and all of Marlene's family. A truly great lady. RIP!

My fondest memories are of Marlene and I going shopping together, having lunch and just enjoying each other's company. She was always honest and I could always count on her to tell me how it is. I'll miss her terribly.

Marlene was my sister-in-law and friend. She was always encouraging and supportive of our family. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, making sure they knew she loved them. She was such a special person, and will live on in our memories and hearts. Rest in peace Sweet Marlene, you are dearly missed.

I first met Marlene at a barbque on the lawn at the Orvis warehouse in 2007. She had just started working at Orvis , she came over and ask if she could sit with me and another coworker and of course I said sure. We instantly hit it off and became friends. I always enjoyed going downtown and meeting her for lunch. She invited me to her retirement dinner in Aug 2019 and I felt so privileged to be invited and celebrate with her on such a special occasion. I was heartbroken when I learned that she had cancer, I thought she hasn't even got to enjoy retirement. I saw her several times during her fight and always kept the faith that she would beat this nasty disease. She called me Sat night before she passed to thank me for being such a good friend and to say goodbye. I will never forget that call. She was such a dear, sweet friend that I will forever miss. Fly high sweet lady until we meet again. Hugs, Dana

I was lucky and blessed to have met Marlene at a managers meeting for Orvis many years ago. We hit it off instantly and became good buddies from afar. I will miss my friend greatly. I was lucky enough to talk to Marlene on Saturday April 4th and say my goodbyes. Remember to tell your friends and family you love them. ❤️ Linda Myers

I first met Marlene at the Orvis Store in downtown Roanoke. Always smiling and upbeat, Marlene made me feel happy inside.
I loved seeing her smile when I brought her Cracker Jacks for her treat when she was sick. Marlene, we love them too...we're going too have a bag of Cracker Jacks in your honor - tonight.
I will always remember Rosie telling me the story of how she came upon a snake in their yard. When Rosie told Marlene about it, Marlene said: "Well, you watch Naked & Afraid" on TV, you know what to do! Makes me smile when I flip the TV channels and see that program or whenever I see a snake.
Your at peace now Marlene, just know that we will never forget you.
