Judy Turner Custer 59 of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Madeline Turner. Judy retired after 20 years of service with Lewis Gale Hospital. She was a member of Grace Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are her son, Chad Custer and wife Summer of Salem; grandchildren, Holden and Emerson Grace; brothers, Hugh Turner and Harvey Turner both of Roanoke; sister, Barbara T. Lucas also of Roanoke; nieces, Terrie Philpott and husband Ken, and their son, Travis; Lisa Anderson and husband Jody and their children, Chase and Ashlyn; Kim Agner and husband James and their children, Alexis, Abigail and Ariel; and a special friend, Pam Vandergrift.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the SW Virginia Food Bank or the Rescue Mission.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Grace Assembly of God, 5530 Catawba Valley Drive, Catawba, by the Rev. Loraine Taylor. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke. 540-366-0707.
