Gordon N. Dempsey, 63, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 27, 2020. He was preceded by his father, Laverne Jack Dempsey.
Gordon was a former member of Wildwood Presbyterian Church and worked as an insurance inspector.
Surviving are his wife, Melody Dempsey; daughters, Leslie (Andrew) Buback, Shannon (Jacob Taylor) Dempsey; mother, Helen Dempsey; grandchildren, Caleb Austin Taylor, Xavier Andrew Buback; brothers, Douglas (Traci) Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, David (Lauren) Dempsey; sisters, Deborah (Dwayne) Bishop, Pamela Marie Dempsey, Patricia Anna Dempsey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
A memorial service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
