Alma Powers Pond, 94, of Vinton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 1, 2020. Alma is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Beulah Powers; sister, Agnis and Husband Henry Supan; brothers, Mickey and wife Gladys Powers, and Earl Powers. She is survived by her son, Richard Pond and wife Elaine; grandchildren, Rickie Pond and wife Amy, and Stacey Chattin and husband Jim; great-grandchildren, Justin Pond, Jacob Pond, Meredith Allen, Samantha Pond, and Hayden Allen; sister, Barbara Huffman; sister-in-law, Carlene Powers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and many church family from Midland Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Midland Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Midland Baptist Church, interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, Virginia. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Chapel.
