Obituary of Victor Manuel Saucedo

Victor Manuel Saucedo of Roanoke walked into eternity on Saturday, October 19, 2019, after a long illness.  He was born December 26, 1953 in Fullerton, California a son of Olga Tarango Sausedo and the late Manuel Sausedo.

Victor was the eldest of 13 siblings.  In addition to his father, Victor was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Melana Doyle Saucedo; brother, Michael Saucedo; and sister, Sandra Aguilar.

Victor served in the United States Army from 1972-1973, and was stationed in Germany and at Fort Dix, New Jersey.  He later worked as a CNA for Charter Hospital where he met nurse Melena Doyle.  In 2006, opting for a new way of life, they made an epic move of nearly 2,500 miles and settled in Roanoke, Va.  Mel worked for Lewis Gale in psychiatric nursing, and Victor later worked as a part of the Mt. Regis recovery team.  They bought a house, married, and had "achieved the dream" as Victor put it.  Then sadly, in 2013 he lost Melana.  The years that followed took their toll on Victor's health as he was heartbroken, but he continued to enjoy time well spent with his many friends.  He continued to be of service in both recovery fellowships and many can attest that Victor saved lives.  With that in mind, his recovery family rallied around to help when he could no longer care for himself.  We love you Victor.  Rest easy friend.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his siblings, Lillie Palush, Rosemary Eubanks, Margaret Jaramillo, Irene Menendez, Celia Jaramillo, Paul Sausedo, Mary Mendoza, Patricia Calleros, Lisa Enriquez, and Tanya Garania; numerous nieces and nephews; his God daughters; and a host of friends in his Recovery family.  He will be greatly missed.
