Obituary of Fletcher Hill

Fletcher I. (Sonny) Hill 73 of Salem went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2012. He was preceded by his loving wife, Sue Hill and his parents, Dwight I. and Mabel Hill of Union, WV. "Sonny" was born March 31, 1939 in Hinton, WV. He graduated in 1957 from Union High School in Union, WV. He retired from General Electric in 1981 after years of service. He was also a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, where he participated in Project Warm and Masons Cove Church of the Brethren, where served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Catawba Ruritan Club, He was a avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. A loving husband. father, and adored grandfather who will be dearly missed by all. Surviving are his son, Denny Hill and wife Sherry of Roanoke; daughter, Jacklyn Anderson and husband Oscar of Roanoke; grandchildren, Justin Anderson, Alex Anderson, Emilee Hill; great grandchildren, Chris Goff, Carter Hodges, Ieylah Anderson; step mother, Lillian Hill of Union, WV; along with several step brothers and sisters; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Joyce East and Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their care and support during this time. A service celebrating Sonny's life will be held 11:00am Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Woodard officiating, interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
