Obituary of James Anthony Camper

James A. Camper, 82, of Salem passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl W. and Beulah Ward Camper; daughters, Susanne Nannette and Elizabeth Jane Camper; and brothers, Earl and Kenneth Camper.

James attended Shenandoah Baptist Church, and operated Campers Garage for over 40 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman with a special love of hunting, fishing and racing.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Carroll Camper; children, Mark (Sharon) Camper, Cammie Camper, Kevin (Meredith) Camper; grandchildren, Sarah, Hailey, Chase, and Emma; great grandchildren, Andrew and Aaron; sisters, Mary (David) Slusher, Iris Camper; and brother, Larry (Linda) Camper.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Edgar Moser.  Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
