Eleanor Gaynell Whistlehunt Stacey, 83, of Roanoke went to be with her Lord, Monday August 26, 2019. Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mae Whistlehunt; siblings, Odell Whistlehunt, Eugene Whistlehunt , Earl Whistlehunt, and Cora Lee Short; Daughter Ida Mae Marcum Smith; grandsons, John Dennis Smith and William Scott Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Marcum England and husband James; grandchildren, Stephanie England Hodges and husband Kenny, Katreina Smith Robinson and husband Tracy, James Dennis England and wife Donna; great-grandchildren, John Brewer, Michael Brewer, Miranda Brewer, Shawn Smith, Christopher Smith, Brandon England, Dennis Cash, Aaron Cash, Robbie Hudspeth, Alex Robinson, Aiden England, Myranda Rawlings, and Trey Rawlings; 12 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Veola Nierman (Charles), TJ Riffe (Jesse), Maxie Rose and Ruby Shirley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends especially the brothers and sisters at Blue Ridge Church of Christ and the Newton Church of Christ.

The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Our Lady of the Valley for all the love and care they gave to Eleanor.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Brent Paschall officiating. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home (540)366-0707.
