Obituary of Roger Willard Hartberger

Roger W. Hartberger, 73, of Vinton, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evern J. and Josephine C. Hartberger; brothers, Ralph, Maynard, Earl and Doug Hartberger; and a sister, Colleen Stockton. Roger proudly served his county in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem, VA. Surviving are his sister, Rosemary Hartberger Tench; numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving dog Lilly. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Montvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Troy Mays. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road, 540-366-0707.
