Frances Minter Davis Mounfield born August 8, 1922 in Roanoke, Virginia died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at her home in Daleville, Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Hunter Minter and Frank Gladstone Minter, brother, 1st Lt. John Hunter Minter, U.S. Army, WWII, North Africa, first husband, 1st Lt. Lawton Davis, U.S. Army, WW II, Battle of the Bulge, 2nd husband, William Pratt Mounfield, 1st Lt. U.S. Army Air Corps, WWII, a well known Roanoke architect.

She is survived by a sister, Barbara Minter Barnes (Col. James C.); and her children, Lawton Davis (Ray) Kasey, William Pratt (Gina) Mounfield, Jr., Hunter (Ekkehart) Schoefert, Frances Summer (Peter) Hardinge, Estelle (Jim) Brodeur; grandchildren, Ryann Kasey, Clay Kasey, William Mounfield, III, Kathryn Schoefert, Markus Schoefert, Hunter Hardinge, Isabelle Hardinge, Emma Brodeur, Sam Brodeur, as well as a niece, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. James Episcopal Church 4515 Delray Street Roanoke, VA.  The family will receive friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Fincastle; or Good Samaritan Hospice, Roanoke.
