Obituary of Doris Crotts Conner

Doris Josephine Crotts Conner passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her son, Michael L. Conner; mother, Hattie Mae Hall Crotts; father, William Lloyd Crotts, Sr.; and three brothers, William Lloyd Crotts, Jr., Harold Crotts and Richard Crotts.

Doris was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church for over 60 years.  She served in many capacities there including Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School teacher of both children and adults.  She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She will be missed by all.

Doris is survived by her husband of 70 years, Marlin Edsel Conner; daughter, Sandra Conner; son, Jimmy (Missy) Conner; grandchildren, T.J. Conner, Brad (Patti Ann) Conner, Mindy (Nathan) Facemire; great grandchildren, Liam Conner and Josie Mae Facemire; sisters, Louise Gilbert, Clara Oliver, and Bonnie (Paul) Hartsell.

Special thanks to Hermitage Roanoke, especially the nurses and CNAs of Dogwood Lane, who provided such good, compassionate care for Doris.

Flowers are appreciated, but donations to North Roanoke Baptist Church Gleaners are also encouraged.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Sandra J. Conner.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
