Sally,
How sad I am to learn of Charlie’s passing. My thoughts and my prayers go out to you and your family. I pray in the coming days you will feel God’s love, His peace and His comfort. I am reminded of the old hymn, “When We All Get to Heaven.” The chorus puts it simply: “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory.” That day belongs to Charlie now and to all of us when God calls us home. Blessings and love to you, dear Sallie. With my deepest sympathy, Carolyn Philpott

Dear Sallie, I was a teacher at Lord Botetourt when Charlie was Assistant Principal. What a great man - many days he was my "guardian angel!" He was also responsible for my position at Northside Middle School when I decided to join the younger students! His quiet, sincere and dedicated manner was what we all needed.
My sincere sympathy to you and to all for the loss of a wonderful person,

God strengthens us by giving us "the power beyond what is normal" to make it through each passing day. Psalm 46:1 says: "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." Isaiah 41:13; I "am grasping your right hand, the One [God] saying to you,...'I will help you.'" Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; 1 Peter 5:7)

Sad to learn of Charlie's passing. I can only echo the sentiment expressed by all who have known him. I'm reminded to always let those we admire and respect know how much we appreciate and enjoy their friendship. Go rest in peace and hopefully we will all enjoy a glorious homecoming in the future.

Imagine a time in the future when those in the grave will be brought back to life here on earth! The Bible repeatedly speaks of such a time. Describing what conditions on earth will then be like, the Bible states that God “will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.”- Revelation 21:3,4. Many who believe in Jehovah the God of the Bible are significantly empowered to cope with grief by embracing the hope of seeing their dead loved ones again.

Dear, lovely Sallie, my heart is so broken for you. Like so many, I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear of your dear Charlie. Right now there are no words, but many prayers and lots of love and hugs for you. In thinking back through the many years, every time I saw the two of you I remember the laughter, joy,and happiness you brought all you met! If I was stressed, or in a gloomy mood all I needed was a Van Lear smile and I was restored to happiness. Sallie, Charlie's legacy will live on in all of us who knew and loved him.. I wish I had a way to make you feel better,. But for now, just know how how very much you are loved. GOD BLESS YOU, my friend. And, God be with you... Love, Carol
