Obituary of Jeffery Wayne Thurman

Jeffery W. “Jeff” Thurman 55 of Roanoke passed away unexpectedly Friday May 3, 2019. He was welcomed home by his Lord Jesus and his beloved mother. Along with his two sets of grandparents, Robert and Mary Shiflett Thurman and James and Sarah Crawford also preceded him. He is the son of Wayne D. Thurman and the late Maxine Crawford Thurman.

He left behind to cherish his memory are his loving father, Wayne Thurman; his sister, Roxanne Haynes and brother-in-law Robert Haynes Jr. Along with a host of other relatives and friends. He was a good and loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend and will be missed by all who loved him.

Jeff graduated from Staunton River High School, became a member of Local 100, and worked as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for 35 years.

In the later part of his life, he was having medical issues and that he was being treated for. He and his family believed he was getting well, so they were all devastated when the Lord called him home Friday.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Saturday May 25, 2019 at the  Harvest Ministries, 909 Blue Ridge Blvd., Roanoke, Virginia 24012 with Sr. Pastor Milton Atkins officiating.
