Obituary of Sandra Kay Spicer

Sandra Kay Spicer, 67, of Blue Ridge went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 22, 2019.  She was preceded by her parents, Mary Kathryn Hall Jenks and Samuel Jenks; father-in-law, Kenneth M. Spicer, nephew, Peter Jason Jennings; and a niece, Elizabeth Jean Jennings.

Sandra was a long time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  She was a devoted caregiver for her mom and dad and was an accomplished seamstress and doll maker. 

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Stephen Spicer; daughter, Stormi (Scott) Amendt; grandson, Grayson Amendt; brother, Steven (Beverly) Jenks; sister, Gloria Jean (Peter) Jennings; niece, Juli (Steve) Martin; great nephews, Steven Thomas and Jake Monroe; mother-in-law, Mary Catherine Spicer;  and sister-in-law, Cathy (Allan) Paterson.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 1887 Electric Road Roanoke, VA  24018.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Keith D. Beasley.  The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  366-0707  www.simpsonfuneral.com
